Toronto Police holds Chief’s Meet & Greet with community leaders

Toronto Police Service hosted the Chief’s Meet & Greet with South and West Asian Community Leaders. The Meet & Greet was hosted at the TPS Head Quarters at 40 College Street. Police Chief Mark Saunders, Deputy Chief Shawna Coxon, Chief of the Disciplinary Hearings Office Superintendent Richard Hegedus, Chair of the Chief’s South and West Asian advisory committee Mr. Haroon Khan, Officer in Charge for south and west Asian community engagement Johnny Bobbili, representatives of the Japanese, Turkish, Pakistani consulates and leaders of the South and West Asian communities across GTA were in attendance.

 

Chief Saunders thanked the community leaders for coming in an evening that was breaking records for cold weather. He highlighted the drive of TPS, which is one of the largest Police Forces in North America, to be an organization that fulfills its mandate through community engagement and partnership with the stakeholders. Chief Saunders talked about the recent hiring drive for TPS and encouraged the members of minority groups to come forward and apply. The event ended with delicious South Asian themed dinner served to all attendees.
