Green & Red Wheelers organizing the 2nd Independence Day Rally
Green & Red Wheelers, popularly known as G&R, is a group of car enthusiasts, mainly based in Toronto. Majority of the members of the group identify themselves as Bangladeshi-Canadians. In recent times, the group has gained wide publicity after successfully carrying out projects focused on road safety awareness, in collaboration with the Toronto Police Service.
In March 2018, Green & Red Wheelers organized the first Independence Day Rally to celebrate the independence day of Bangladesh. It was the first of its kind in North America. 71 cars, drove along the streets of Toronto, flying both Bangladeshi and Canadian national flags with remarkable discipline, spreading the spirit of joy, cherishing the spirit of multiculturalism. The rally ended at Warden Woods Community Centre where a concert was organized and the attendees got a chance to try out some authentic Bangladeshi cuisine. Inspired by the success of the first rally, G&R is organizing the 2nd Independence Day rally this 24th of March. The rally will start from Bluffer’s Park, move forward along Kingston road and move through Danforth Bangla Town before ending at Oakridge Community Centre (pharmacy and danforth). The participants will have the opportunity to enjoy some delicious food and music at the end of the rally. Registration is mandatory for the rally. Detailed information of this event can be found on the facebook page of the group www.facebook.com/groups/green.and.red.wheelers.
