BBAC to host Ayub Bachhu Tribute Concert in Toronto
Bangladeshi Bands Association of Canada (BBAC) has organized a tribute concert in memory of Legendary Bangla Rock singer Ayub Bachhu. The concert will take place on December 15, 2018 from 4pm to 10pm; venue: Blessed Cardinal Newman Catholic High School Auditorium at 100 Brimley Road South, Scarborough.
Ayub Bachchu, a legendary guitarist, singer, songwriter and composer was the founder of rock band LRB (Love Runs Blind). He passed away at his Dhaka residence on Thursday October 18, 2018 at the age of 56.
Mr. Bachchu was born in Chittagong, Bangladesh, on August 16, 1962. He made his debut in the music industry with the pioneer Bangla band group Feelings in 1978. Then he joined Souls, one of the legendary bands of Bangladeshi music, in 1980. In 1986, he released his first music album ‘Rakto Golap’.
Ayub Bachchu collaborated with many of the music legends of his age, starting from Richard and Le Gang (France), Remo Fernandez, Nandon Bugchi, and Bikram Gosh of India; and Azam Khan and many more. Bachhu had a large following on international stage and performed in almost every major city of the world including New York, Toronto, Sydney, London, Rome, Vienna, Brussels, Frankfurt, Singapore, His band LRB is the only Bangla rock band which played in famous Madison Square Garden in New York City.
“The band musicians of Toronto have come together to organize a tribute concert for the rock legend, everyone’s beloved, Ayub Bachchu. For the first time in Toronto the band musicians are organizing this event themselves out of love and respect for the big hearted Rockstar” the open invitation from the organizers of Ayub Bachhu Tribute Concert said. Entry to the concert is free.
